Cartographic Survey of Historic Buildings Exhibition

Cartographic survey is an important way to preserve our heritage. It records the architectural structures and features of buildings precisely and acts as a reference for future restoration projects. The measured drawings of historic buildings themselves are also important heritage resources, reflecting the evolvement of Hong Kong's history and culture. Many of these age-old drawings are valuable historical documents.

The measured drawings displayed in the exhibition were produced by the Guangdong Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, The University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the Architectural Services Department and the Antiquities and Monuments Office. We hope that through this exhibition, the public can further understand the work of cartographic survey of historic buildings in Hong Kong, and the importance of the work of heritage preservation.
