Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre (HKHDC)
“Monuments X Tai Chi”

Tai Chi is not only a traditional Chinese sport, but it is also a part of our martial art which helps to strengthen our bodies. This programme, being carried out in the graceful courtyard of HDC, allows beginners to learn the basic Tai Chi movements and practise two sets of Tai Chi in Yang style safely while learning the history of HKHDC.

10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Cafeteria, Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre, Kowloon Park, Haiphong Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon.

Quota:

15 persons (Participants must be aged 18 or above)

Mr. Lee Kwok Kuen
(Friends of Heritage and qualified instructor of Tai Chi)

Content:

The tutor will give a brief introduction on the history and architectural features of the building at the beginning; he will then explain the Tai Chi movements by using four simple steps (1.Explanation 2.Demonstration 3.Imitation 4. Learning). Participants will be able to practise the two sets of Tai Chi Chuan in Yang style (namely “Cloud Hands” and “Brush Knee Twist Steps on Both Sides”) afterwards.

Remarks:

Participants must take care of themselves and follow the instructions of the staff during the event. The Centre will not take the responsibility of incidents like the loss of properties, suffer from injury etc.
