Public Programme at the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre
“Discovering the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre” Guided Tour

Two out of the four remaining Barracks located in Kowloon Park have become the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre. The Kowloon Peninsula was ceded to the British Army in 1861, Whitfield Barracks were then established which was named after Major General H.W. Whitfield, Major General China, Hong Kong & Straits Settlements. A guided visit and introduction on the history and architectural features of the HKHDC which allows the participants to learn more about the changes of the Centre over time and the concept of adaptive reuse.
