Barrier Free Facilities



 

To strive for a barrier free museum, the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre is committed to providing equal access for all to ensure that everyone can fully participate and enjoy their visits to the museum. We shall pay attention to the needs and limitations of persons with disabilities in using venue facilities and to offer them suitable assistance.

Currently, barrier free facilities and services provided at the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre include:

  • A barrier free ramp at the main entrance
  • Tactile guide paths and a braille and tactile floor plan at the foyer
  • An enquiry counter with height suitable for wheelchair users and an Induction loop system at the foyer
  • An accessible toilet at the foyer
  • Designated spaces convenient for wheelchair users (4 in Lecture Hall)
  • Braille markings on the staircase railings to the gallery
  • Braille markings and audible signal in the passenger lift

You are welcome to contact Ms. Denise Lau, the Manager (Antiquities and Monuments)1 and the Access Officer of the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre at 2208 4400 during office hours (10am to 6pm on Mon to Fri) or call the Duty Manager at 2730 6913 during non-office hours.
