Hop Yat Church

Its predecessor was the Daoji Mission House. In the early 20th century, a National Christian Conference was held in Shanghai and it was decided that an indigenous church should be established in China to unify different churches. In 1920, the Church of Christ of China was set up, and the Daoji Mission House joined in the following year. The London Missionary Society later gave up the site to the Daoji Mission House for building a new church. Built in Neo-gothic style, the church was completed in 1926 and named Hop Yat Church by the church members through a collective decision process.
