Built in 1890, the Ko Shing Theatre was located on the main road between Sheung Wan and the Western district. The theatre had two storeys with the stage in the middle front. The ground floor were equipped with long wooden chairs and the centre of the second floor were reserved for female audience, with space for standing on both sides. During Hong Kong’s early development, interesting and famous performances were shown there. After several renovations, the theatre was finally demolished in 1973.
