Original Site of the Alice Memorial Hospital
and Hong Kong College of Medicine

77-81 Hollywood Road

In 1887, Ho Kai and the London Missionary Society established the Alice Memorial Hospital and set up the Hong Kong College of Medicine in it. In the same year, Dr Sun Yat-sen transferred from Boji Hospital in Guangzhou to the college for medical training, and graduated with distinction in 1892. Later, the college merged with the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong. The Alice Memorial Hospital was moved to 2 Bonham Road and renamed as Nethersole Hospital. This historic site is now marked by the Dr Sun Yat-sen Historical Trail.
