Yang Yao Ji was the family shop of the revolutionary, Yang Heling. Yang was a childhood friend of Dr Sun Yat-sen in their native place. Part of the shop was reserved as a meeting place for revolutionaries to plan for their activities. “The Four Bandits”, Dr Sun Yat-sen, Chen Shaobai, Yao Lie and Yang, always discussed their plans against the Qing government there. After the founding of the Republic of China, Yang retired and the shop was sold and converted into a new building. This historic site is now marked by the Dr Sun Yat-sen Historical Trail.
