Ohel Leah Synagogue

The synagogue was built in 1902 by a banker, Sir Jacob E. Sassoon, in memory of his mother, Mrs Leah E. Sassoon. It is an Eastern Jewish style building with two storeys, and a balcony on the upper floor for the woman disciples. It was renovated in 1998. The renovation project obtained the Outstanding Project Award of the 2000 UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Awards for Culture Heritage Conservation.
