After visiting the historical buildings, we understand the meaning of heritage conservation. During the YFOH training, we visited places like the Wai Chai Market and Old Wan Chai Post Office. The visits and the tutors allow me to think of the living condition of the people in the past which has a great contrast with the living condition nowadays.

In the past, people went to the Post Office to send the letters. But now we only need to send email which is so convenient to us. The modern technology is the result of hard-work of the people in the past. However, some people are abusing the use of this and we have to rethink in this aspect.

Beside, after the training course, I am more aware of the surrounding things, including the buildings with special features and the monuments. Attentions to these things are part of the Liberal Studies. But such knowledge is hard to gain from schools but is much related to our daily live.

In order to let teenagers to know more about heritage in Hong Kong and promote the message of heritage conservation, I have taken up the post as a Convener of YFOH Website Team in the coming year and to update everyone on the latest information about heritage to all the YFOHs.
