Cheung Chau Rock Carvings were reported by a geologist in 1970, the same year when Big Wave Bay Rock Carving was discovered. They are situated at the south-eastern end of the tombolo forming the island, immediately below the Warwick Hotel. They consist of two groups of similar design with several carved lines surrounding small depressions. The second group was not completely exposed when found and could only be fully revealed after removal of soil.

Rock Carvings on Cheung Chau were declared monuments in 1982.
