The “preparation” process involves cleaning and restoring the fossils in two key steps: removing the surrounding rock and then repairing the fossils as needed. The primary tool is the pneumatic air scribe. Chisels and hammers are employed when needed. This rock shows visible preparation marks on the rock surface. Exposed white dinosaur fossils are marked by the red lines. Final confirmation of the fossils’ shape and size and whether these fragments are connected can be confirmed only upon completion of the preparation.
