Friends of Heritage

Friends of Heritage Monthly Bulletin and content page

The Antiquities and Monuments Office (AMO) has received encouraging responses from the public since the launch of the Friends of Heritage (FOH) Scheme in 1997. Over the years, the Scheme has over 500 members and about 1,000 participants. FOH recruitment is arranged biennially. Members will attend AMO’s lectures and workshops on history or heritage, visit heritage sites and volunteer in education activities. In addition, some of them have become docents after attending training programmes, who help convey the importance of heritage conservation to the public. AMO will keep a record of the activities / service hours of each member every year. To complement the active FOH, awards will be presented to the most dedicated members of the year.
